Q: I am a new user, how do I place a classified advertisement?
A: Here are step by step instructions.

Step 1: Register: Click on the word "Register" above to set up your account and your profile. You can include your profile, your photo and your company logo

Step 2: Login: Click on the word "Login" above

Step 3: Click on "My Account"

Step 4: Select "Create New Ad" (this is located under your profile)

Step 5: Follow the instructions for populating the fields for your ad.

Remember, text advertisements are free! Photos, URL Links and Featured Ads are an additional cost. See the Pricing Tab at the top of the page for details.

Q: I have an account already and/or I have placed ads in the past, how do I place a new ad?
A: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Login: Click on the word "Login" above

Step 2: Click on "My Account"

Step 3: Select "Create New Ad" (this is located under your profile)

Step 4: Follow the instructions for populating the fields for your ad.

Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: Nothing. Registration is FREE.

When you register on our site you can include your profile, your photo and your logo.

Q: Do I have to register to use the site?
A: No. You can browse and search ads without registering. If you want to create ads, you will need to register. Registration is FREE.

Q: How Much Do Classified Ads Cost?
A: A basic text advertisement is free. Upgrades vary depending on your choices & the duration of your ad. Please see the Pricing Tab at the top of the page for more details.

Q: How Long Does an Ad Run?
A: It depends on your selection, see the pricing tab on the top of the page for more information.

Q: Do I Have to Register to Create Ads?
A: Yes. You must be a registered user to create ads. Registration is free. Click on the Register Tab at the top of the page.

Q: I created an ad, but it does not show up in search results. Why?
A: All ads need administrative approval and usually go live within 24 hours. Another option is that it may be in a draft status. You need to select "Run Ad" in order for it to be seen on the site. After selecting "Run Ad" the ad still needs to be approved. You can find "Run Ad" under "My Account"

Q: How do I stop my ad from running?
A: There are two options: Stop and Delete. First login and go to My Account. To Stop you ad: click on the Stop link to the left of the ad. Stop saves the ad in your account. Use this option if you think you may want to reactive your ad at a later date. Delete: this will delete your ad from our system and it can not be accessed at a later date.

Q: What Category Should I Put My Ad In?
A: If you don't see a category specific to your item, use General/Other. If you have a suggestion for a new category, please email it to admin@classifiedvi.com.

Q: What Island should I put my ad in?
A: The Island that the item is located on. By default the region will be the region you specified on your profile when you registered, but you can change this at any time. If you are in Puerto Rico, the BVI or the Continental US, pick an island.

Q: Will my ad be visible in other regions?
A: Yes. All ads are visible in any region. However, the system will show a user their default region first, then ads from outside their region.

Q: I don't want my name, phone number or email address to appear on your site. What should I do?
A: You can have all your personal information remain private. Update your personal privacy preferences from the My Account page. People can contact you through our site.

Q: If all my information is private how can a buyer contact me?
A: When your ad appears, instead of showing your contact information the following appears: "This seller has chosen to remain private. You may contact this seller via anonymous email by clicking here." The prospective buyer completes an on-line form and the system sends you an email without revealing your information to the prospective buyer.

Q: I don't see my Island listed. What should I choose?
A: If you live on Water Island, use St. Thomas. If you live on Lovango, choose St. John. If none of these apply, then select one of our islands. We are reviewing additional options.
